On tip-toe ... shoes with 8-inch heels

TALK about ballet pump-ed up — these shoes have an EIGHT-INCH heel that could help aspiring dancers stand on tip-toe.

French designer Christian Louboutin created the silk slip-ons to raise money for the English National Ballet.

They are studded with Swarovski crystals and even come complete with his trademark red sole.

Louboutin, 47, said of the footwear — on display in the Shoes For Show exhibition in Brick Lane, East London: "Isn't the classical dancing ballet slipper the ultimate heel?

"The heel which makes dancers closer than any other women to the sky, to heaven?"

Other shoes on display include those by Alexander McQueen and Nicholas Kirkwood.

But the ballet shoes will leave Louboutin's fans tickled pink.
