Cult group The Obedient Wives Club (OWC) are embarking on a controversial celebration to mark the birthday of Prophet Muhammad on Feb 5, or 12th Rabiul Awal in the Islamic calender.
Themed "Rasulullah Tokoh Seks Suci Islam" (The Prophet, Islam's Sacred Sex Figure), the close-door (s)exhibition will be held for 12 days, starting Wednesday at the club's headquarters in Pusat Perdagangan Pelangi, Damansara, Kuala Lumpur.
OWC president Fauziah Ariffin argued that the campaign has been designed to urge Muslim couples to better emulate Muhammad’s life, which Muslims had strayed from.
If Muslims live their lives while adhering to principles grounded in Islam, then all homosexual acts can be avoided, Fauziah added.
Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, Datuk Dr Mashitah Ibrahim has urged the government to ban the event as it is an insult to Prophet Muhammad.
"Prophet Muhammad is a good role model for the Muslims. He was a good leader of his family, his people and his army. Why are they focussing on his sex life? It's an insult to him because marriage in Islam is not just about sex," Mashitah told mStar Online.
The OWC, which encourages women to behave like "first-class whores" for their husbands if they wish to keep their marriages, courted controversy last October when they published an explicit sex guide to "Islamic sex".
The book has since been banned by the Home Ministry.
